Willie Rice Jr. 57 of Richmond died unexpectedly on January 1, 2022, at his home. He was born January 19, 1964, in Richmond to Willie and Berta Bowling Rice Sr. and lived here all his life. He worked as a member of the Indiana Laborers Union. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Upward Basketball Coach, and Missionary.

Survivors include his wife Susan, one son William Brandon (Lauren) Rice, two grandchildren Olivia and Everly, six brothers and sisters Carolyn Crisp, Shirley (Joe) Falcone, James Rice, Ruth Ellen Rice, David Allen (Lota) Rice, and Joseph (Jill) Rice, several nieces, nephews, and his aunt Irene (Tim) Burge. He is preceded in death by one daughter Christina Renee Rice, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Hillcrest Baptist Church 3469 Hillcrest Road Richmond, Indiana 47374 with Rev. Darrell Kepler officiating. His burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home 222 North 10th Street Richmond.
