William "Bill" Wheeler 82 of Richmond passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2023, at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee. He was born December 5, 1940, in Indianapolis to Walter Howard and Helen Keiter Wheeler and lived in this area most of his life.

Bill served as a sergeant in the Army; and was a Harrison Street Baptist Church member in New Madison, Ohio.

He worked as a mechanic at Wagner Cadillac, Studebaker Buick GMC, and owned A1 Auto Service; he was currently working as an insurance adjuster.

Bill loved spending time with his family and enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events.

He is survived by his son Christopher Thomas (Lisa) Wheeler of New Paris, his daughter Elizabeth Ann Smith of Richmond, seven grandchildren Matthew (Hannah), Mark (Lindsey), Sarah, Luke, Alexander, Robert, Tyler (Mykenzie), four great-grandchildren Ezra, Moriah, Jase, Zaylah; one brother Donald Wheeler of Kentucky, several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha Ann Wheeler who died in 2022, one granddaughter Nicole Marie, one great-granddaughter Faith Marie, two sisters Nancy Wheeler, and Norma Jean Wheeler, and one brother David Wheeler.

Services will be 1:30 PM Friday, April 14, 2023, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle Herrmann officiating; burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
