William Cullen Turner age 94 of Richmond died January 3, 2024, after a short illness. He was born September 14, 1929, in Richmond to Emerson Fredrick Turner and Ethel Juanita Phillips (Chester) Bennett and lived here all his life.
He retired as a pipe fitter and plumber working for Niewoehner Plumbing and Meyers Mechanical. He was a sixty-year member of the Pipefitters Union. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a 1947 graduate of Richmond High School.
He was a former member of the Elks Lodge, and the 48 Breakfast Club, and loved to fish.
He is survived by two nephews Richard and Marge Turner, Don and Beth Turner, one niece Vickie and Denver Combs, and other nieces and nephews of the Turner and Mussoni families, his good friends and fishing buddies Willard and Noah, and his daughter Mary Margaret "Meg" (Rick) Walton. His wife of 54 years Anna died in 2007. He is also preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donald, Keith, Tim Turner, and his sister Lou Ann Oakerson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 8, 2024, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Holman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family via the guest book at stegallberheideorr.com.
