Obituary

William Aras Kellar II 77 of Richmond passed away due to a battle with cancer on February 26, 2025. He was born February 17, 1948, in Marietta, Ohio to William and Freda Duffey Kellar; living in Lynchburg, Virginia before moving to Richmond 3 years ago.

William was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam. During his extensive career, he earned several medals, including the Vietnam Service Medal with five stars, a good conduct medal, a Republic of Vietnam campaign medal, a Navy Achievement medal with combat V, a Navy unit citation, a rifle sharpshooter badge, a pistol sharpshooter badge, a combat action ribbon, and a Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ann Kellar, five children, William Aras Evans, Christopher G. Hays, Neva Ann Privott, William Aras McKellar IV, and Adeline Diane Kellar, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two brothers, Chris Kellar and Dana Kellar, one sister, Sylvia Lang, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Services will be private and at the family's convenience. The inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
