Wanda Philpott, 86, of Richmond, passed away on January 6, 2026, at Reid Health after a long illness. She was born on January 2, 1940, in Charleston, West Virginia, to William and Holly Jenkins Gray and lived in Richmond for most of her life.

She was a 1957 graduate of Richmond High School. Wanda graduated from nursing school in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and worked as a pediatric nurse at Reid Hospital, retiring from the Richmond State Hospital.

She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three children Holly Philpott of Richmond, Mark (Ange) Philpott of New Paris, Lee Ann (Ernie) Gray of Richmond, six grandchildren Bill, Ryan (Brandi), Jeremy (Rikki), Lee (Cary), Kristy (Eric), Brandy (Dallas), Ernest Gray Jr. thirteen great-grandchildren Including Nicholas May, one nephew Tim Lunsford, two nieces Beth Lunsford and Glenna (Lunsford) Hutzell.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Jean (Wayne) Lunsford, one niece Debbie Lunsford, three great-grandchildren Kristopher, Kyler, Kameron.

Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 12, 2026 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Pastor David McQueen officiating; burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
