Wanda N. Brooks (nee Simpson), 83, of Richmond passed unexpectedly on June 5th, 2023 at Reid Health. She was born on March 24th, 1940 in Susie, Kentucky to Peter and Indie Simpson. Her family moved to Richmond in 1947. She married her husband, Norman G. Brooks, on June 28th, 1959. In 1986, the two moved to Chandler, Arizona, where they lived for the next 15 years. In 2001 they moved back to Richmond, where they've stayed ever since.

Wanda had a love for art, history, and collecting pigs. Over the years she worked many jobs- from a paralegal to a volunteer, to a homemaker. Her favorite role was being a grannie to her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Norman G. Sr.; her three sons- Norman G. (Jennifer Janssen) Brooks Jr. of Richmond, Patric W. (Kelly) Brooks of Madison, Indiana., and Joseph A. Brooks of Chandler, Arizona. She was also survived by her grandchildren Sara Bulmer, Dale Brooks, Ashley Ricketts, and Caitlyn Brooks; her nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, including her sister-in-law Joyce L. Roberts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her twelve older brothers and sisters, and her brother-in-law Frank A. Roberts.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Stegall-Beheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
