Vera Ann Hartmann 92 of Richmond died September 23, 2021, at Reid Health. She was born December 10, 1928, in Eglon, Kentucky to Manford and Ollie Mae Carpenter Jones and lived here most of her life. She worked as a hairstylist and a Teacher's Aide at Achieva. She was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene and loved her family and church.

Survivors include her children Janet (Jeff) Prows, Gerald Cross, Gene Hartmann, Brenda (Jeff) Anderson, Kurt (Vicki) Hartmann, Cindy (Mark) McCollum, Shawn (Felicia) Cross, and Kenny (Wanda) Drook, twenty grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her brother-in-law Walt (Liz Craig) Crocker. Her husband Phillip Hartmann died on November 5, 2017. She is also preceded in death by her son Shane Cross, her parents, and four brothers and sisters.

A visitation for Vera will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with a private funeral service following with Rev. Paul Mingus officiating.
