Ty A. Thompson 55 of Richmond passed away unexpectedly June 27, 2026, at Reid Health. He was born on July 6, 1970, in Richmond to Terry Lee and Brenda Lou Jones Thompson and lived here most of his life.

Ty formerly worked as a golf instructor at Dogwood Hills Golf Resort in Osage, Missouri and was a Tool Maker/C&C Programmer at H&P Tool Company Inc.

He was an avid golfer and pool player; he was the comedian of the family who loved jokes and playing pranks and he was not shy about his political opinions.

He is survived by his wife Debi Thompson, one son Cole (Nicole Hilgeman) Thompson, three stepchildren Sara McKinney, Luke (Kaitlyn Rice) Tice, Megan (Matt Houser) Cope; six grandchildren Kaydence McKinney, Cheyann McKinney, Mylee McKinney, Ellie Tice, Waylon Tice, Lily Parks; one brother David (Melissa Wheeler) Thompson, five nieces and nephews: Jessica, Brittney, Sara, Dylan, Amy; seven great nieces and nephews: Ah'livia, Davian, Mason, Iceland, Scotland, Kaitlyn and Gabriel.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lisa Gentile.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday July 3, 2026, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, with Rev. Martin Holman officiating; burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
