On Sunday, April 30, 2023, treasured father, son, and brother Thomas "Tom" Leroy Jones, Jr. entered the presence of his Savior and King while at Reid Health in Richmond, IN.  He was 65 years old. He's been a resident at Rosebud Village for the last two years.

Tom was born on August 25, 1957, in Dayton, OH. He grew up in West Alexandria, OH.  When he was 12, the family moved from West Alex to Richmond, IN. Outside of a few adult years in New Castle, IN, Tom has since spent most of his life in Richmond. After spending a couple of years in the Navy, Tom came home and worked in the beverage industry, construction, and at Richmond State Hospital. In the second part of his career, he was a Teamster and worked for highway construction crews, for Melton Truck Line out of Tulsa, OK, and had been driving for Slay Transportation out of Evendale, OH, for 12 years before he was disabled by a massive stroke in 2018.

He enjoyed Blues music -- Stevie Ray Vaughan is one of his favorites. He enjoyed golfing at the Elks, hanging out with friends at the Knights of Columbus, grilling out, fishing, and shooting pool. When Tom wasn't working, he enjoyed sipping coffee on his back porch and hanging out with family. He said he was most proud of his dad and his sons, and his proudest moments were when his boys were born.

Tom is survived by two sons, Bobby (Brittany) Jones and Blake Jones, two grandchildren, Elissiah "Ellie" and Desmond Jones, parents Thomas "Tom" (Martha) Jones, Sr., brother Darryl (Sharon) Jones, sister Sarah (Bobby) Lawson, former wife Becky Burton, an aunt, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Tom is preceded in death by his son Andy Jones, mother Peggy Allen, brother Larry Jones, former wife Darla Webb, former wife Linda Jones, and both maternal and fraternal grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home in Richmond, IN.  Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the funeral home.
