Obituary

Sue Mitchell, 67, was peacefully called home from this world to her eternal home in Heaven on June 9, 2025. Sue was a believer who lived her life with courage and a smile, always putting others above herself. Thanks to the path she walked, many people will be cured and healed, and walk that path, with the same courage and strength, thanks to Sue.

Sue graduated from Northeastern High School, then Ivy Tech, and got her nursing license. Her nursing career touched many lives while working for Family Physicians, Deitsch and Royer, Pediatric Center, Reid Hospital, and a call center where she retired. She previously did blood pressure and cholesterol screenings at Medicine Shoppe and Phillips Drugs. Patients, loved ones, and friends saw and felt her compassion, caring, and love, and she used those to make a difference in their lives and this world. When you have Sue as a family member or friend, you have someone very special.

Sue was a big fan of all sports, including Butler volleyball, basketball, IU basketball, football, and a big fan of the Colts, Fever, and Reds. Whether in the stands or watching from home, you could always find her cheering on her favorite team.

Sue loved travel and adventure, and enjoyed multiple vacations to Myrtle Beach, twice to Hawaii, two cruises, Las Vegas, Statue of Liberty, St. Louis Arch, Huntsville Space Center and Washington D.C. She also traveled to The Grand Canyon, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Disney World, attended Taylor Swift and Pink concerts, multiple Indy 500's, NASCAR and F1 Indy races and "kissed the bricks" at the Speedway. She loved amusement parks and roller coasters, and also took a hot air balloon ride.

She is survived by her loving husband Jim of 42 years, children Justin (Terri), Lauren (Eric), brothers Mike and Jeff (Kim), sister Cathy, grandchildren Henley & Cameron, nieces, nephews, and grand dogs: Jax, Josie, Baxter, and Maggie. Her parents, Pat and Al Cross, are previously deceased.

Sue is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. God bless you, Sue, as we love you and miss you already.
