Steven D. Bird 70 of Greenville died Saturday, February 14, 202,5 at Ayden of Greenville after a long illness. He was born September 2, 1954, in Fairborn, Ohio to Mark and Dereda Smith Bird. He worked as a Cabinet Maker for Masterbrand Products. He was a veteran of the Army and National Guard. He also served as a Volunteer Firefighter. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and his main love was his belief in God.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Dena, four children Dawn (Pam) Carpenter, Bill (Beth) Bird, Robert Ellis, and Jennifer (Matt) Minor, thirteen grandchildren Emily (Aaron) Capps, Heather (Amber) Wilbur, Gabiella Carpenter, Gage Carpenter, Whitley (Dusty) Campbell, Adali Bird, Cord Minor, David Ellis, Maddie Stroh, Johnny and Lexi Bird, Natalie (James) Leichty, James (Stephanie) Gillespie, and Amanda (Ryan) Miller, fourteen great-grandchildren Camden Mathis, Remington Campbell, Raylee Campbell, Nova Ellis, Tyler (CC) Landis, Victoria (Caleb) Bowman, Aubrey Landis, Tanner Leichty, Nolan Leichty, Kurt (Ashley) Gillespie, Serena (Adam) Coffee, Dawsin Arborgast, Paige (Tyler) Lucas, and Mya Gillespie, two great-great-grandchildren Waylan Boman and Rayleigh Lucas, one brother Mark (Marge) Bird, one sister Jennifer (Elvin) Miller nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandson Jacob Magoto, and a brother Brent Bird, aunts, and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Price officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with military services by the Wayne County Veteran Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
