Sid Carpenter, 75, of Richmond, passed away peacefully at his home on October 25, 2025, after a long illness.

He was born on October 29, 1949, in Jackson County, Kentucky, to Tomie and Mary Bell Lakes Carpenter, and lived in Richmond most of his life.

Sid was a dedicated car salesman who worked for Wells Pontiac, Brookbank Chevrolet, and Victory Chevrolet and retired from Studebaker Buick GMC.

A faithful member of Straightline Pike Pentecostal Church, Sid was deeply devoted to his family and cherished every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Karen; three daughters, Joni (Marshall) Houseworth of Brownsville, Heather (Scott) Field of Richmond, and Diana McMillan of Richmond; five grandchildren, Whitney (Chuckie) Jewett, Austin (Sharay) Field, Brandon Field, Kennedy McKee, and Shelby Houseworth; and four great-grandchildren, Ruella, Esme, Ryleigh, and Eliana. He is also survived by one sister, Vadis (Ron) Bellew of Centerville; two brothers, Marvin Carpenter of Richmond and Willie Carpenter of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brother's Dennis and Hisel Carpenter, two sisters Agnes Turner and Ina Fay Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Straightline Pike Pentecostal Church, with Pastor John Shepherd and Brother Gary Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday at Straightline Pike Pentecostal Church.
