Shirley Loretta Linkous 86 of Richmond died July 24, 2023, at Brickyard Healthcare. She was born September 25, 1936, in London, Kentucky to Morgan Taylor Gill and Annie Jo Lear Vetter. She worked at the Pennsylvania Depot Restaurant with her husband Paul. She was an avid Banjo player since the age of 5. She loved singing and playing music with all her sisters, especially with her two nieces Brenda and Sandra. Shirley was also a supporter of the Humane Society and rescued dogs of her own.

Survivors include three sisters Vina Wallace of Richmond, Joyce (Chuck) Sawyers of Berea, Kentucky, and Janice Lang of Richmond, nieces, and nephews. she is preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Linkous Jr., her parents, and two sisters Dorothy Finn and Faye Gill.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 4:00 P.M. September 25, 2023, in Berea, Kentucky. Private burial will be at Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City.
