Shirley E. (Phenis) Irvine, 92 passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Reid Health after an extended illness.

Born in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of the late Evan and Callie Phenis. Shirley was a graduate of Boston High School in Boston, Indiana.

She was a longtime employee of Garrison Elementary School in Richmond. Shirley was a longtime fan of her I.U. and Pacers basketball teams along with the Cincinnati Reds, She always tried not to miss the games on TV!

She was preceded in death by her sisters Vivian Wadsworth, Roberta Wadsworth, Marjorie Byrd, and Alice Toney, and her brother Evan Phenis Jr.

Survivors include her husband Richard G. Irvine of 72 years, one daughter Pamela Carr of Ocala, Florida, three sons Ronald (Cheryl) Irvine of New Paris, Ohio, Eric (Jenny) Irvine, and Rick Irvine both of Richmond; Shirley was blessed with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
