Shawn Cross, 57 of Richmond, lost his long battle with melanoma cancer May 1, 2025 at Reid Health. He was born September 14, 1967, in Richmond to James Cross and Vera Jones Hartmann and lived here all of his life.

Shawn loved the Tennessee Volunteers, Indianapolis Colts, and the Cincinnati Reds.

He worked as a truck driver.

Shawn is survived by his wife of 20 years, Felicia Cross, four children, Brent Plankenhorn, Chelsi (Travis) Dale, Peyton Manning Cross, and Chandler (Takeisha) Cross, all of Richmond; five grandchildren, Pierce, KJ, Jerzi, Tanner, and Naomi; one sister, Janet (Jeff) Prows of Richmond; one brother, Jerry Cross of Philadelphia; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his biological father, his mom and dad, Vera and Phil Hartman, two brothers, Kenny Drook, Shane Cross, his mother and father-in-law, Janice and Bill Manning.

Service will be 6:00 PM Monday, May 5, 2025, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Dennis Chasteen officiating; inurnment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Shawn was an avid sports fan and in his honor, his family is requesting that everyone wear their favorite team's jersey or shirt to the visitation and funeral .
