Ruby Lee Marcum

Ruby Lee Marcum, age 93, went to be home with the Lord on September 16, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family after a long illness. Ruby was born July 8, 1933, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, and lived most of her life in Richmond, Indiana. Ruby was the loving, protective mother of twelve children alongside her husband of seventy-five years, Robert Marcum Sr. Ruby was a homemaker, pastor's wife and worked at Brookside Cleaners in her later years.

Ruby is preceded in death by her son Gerald Oscar Marcum, her grandson Robert Allen Marcum, and all her siblings Edith, Edward, and Ralph. Survivors include: her husband, Robert Marcum Sr.; daughters Audrey (Robert) Bruns, Linda Jarrett, Patty (Troy) Mullin, Beverly (Rusty) Anderson, Sons Thomas (Tonya) Marcum, Lonnie Marcum, Harold Marcum, Robert Jr., Tim (Julie) Marcum, Billy Marcum, Michael Marcum, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Ruby was a devout Christian who faithfully served the Lord throughout her life. She was a very hard worker and a wonderful mother to all her children. We find comfort in the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ:

“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” John 11:25.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday September 22, 2026 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Cox officiaitng and burial in Goshen Cemetery.
