Obituary

Roland J. Bishop 92 of Richmond passed away September 10, 2023, at Reid Health. He was born August 11, 1931, in Richmond, and lived here all of his life.

Roland was a Marine Corps. veteran, and served in the Korean War.

He retired from Belden Wire and Cable.

Roland is survived by his two sons Steve (Jan) Bishop of Richmond, and Stan (Debbie) Bishop of Richmond, his stepson Mark (Lori) Bales of Englewood, Ohio, three grandchildren Steve (Ashley) Bishop Jr., Tim (Stacy) Bishop, Melissa (Ryan) Daugherty, two step-grandchildren Josh Bales, Lindsey (Jordan) Albright, and several great-grandchildren; he also leaves behind his North 27 McDonalds Gang: Pastor Bill Cox, Don Dunaway, Phil Tieman, Gary Pate, Julian Johnson, Bruce Sebastian, Lester Crawfor, Charlie Conway, Charlie Lea, Marvin Carpenter, Willie McDaniels, Bob Kenworthy, and Jack Winn.

He is preceded in death by his mother Helen Minner Harlin, his stepfather Howard Harlin, and his wife Millie Bishop who died in 1990.

Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home; burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery with Military Rites. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home.
