Rita Jean Wright, 85, formerly of Richmond and living in Monticello, Indiana, died on January 20, 2025, at home. She was born October 30, 1939, in Richmond to Frank and Agnes Witte Bertsch, living in Richmond all her life until moving to Monticello two years ago. She was a homemaker and retired from Primex Plastics. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, a former member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, and an active volunteer of the church.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Jack, six children John (Dotty) Wright, Cindy (Mark) Johnson, Mary (Paul) Fliehman, Joyce (Greg) Deitz, Judy (Rob) Houseman, and Beth (Brad) Hester, and a special nephew, Jim (Adrienne) Cramer, twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and other nieces and nephews.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Rocco Hester, three sisters, Agnes Lawler, Mary Cramer, and Betty Maurer, and one brother, Joseph Bertsch.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in St. Andrew's Church, with Fr. Jack Wright officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Saturday at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Seton Catholic Schools, 240 South 6th Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374.
