Richard E. Watt 78 of Richmond passed away April 13, 2022, at Reid Health after a long illness; he was born April 25, 1943, in Brownsville to Charles and Martha West Watt and lived in this area for 52 years.
Richard was a pastor, missionary, printer of scripture, church planter, and evangelist. He planted and was the pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Arlington, MA., he founded the New England Baptist Fellowship for Pastors; Richard was also the pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Gospel Baptist in New Paris.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Dixie, four daughters Sherry Watt, Kim Duggan both of Richmond, Julie Watt of Centerville, Amy Watt (Matthew Borges) of Richmond, seven grandchildren Melissa Jimenez, Justin Jimenez, Tyler Jimenez, Dylan Duggan, Hunter, Duggan, Bailey Latimer, Bentley Watt, two nephews Jeff and Russ Hensley.
Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Martin Holman officiating; burial will be in the Brownsville United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday at the church.
