Obituary

Richard Lee Hosier age 79 of New Paris, Ohio died November 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Richmond in 1945 to George and Lorene Noggle Hosier. He was drafted into the Army to fight in the Vietnam War in 1968 until he was honorably in 1970 when he was awarded the Purple Heart medal. He was a lifelong member of the New Paris American Legion Post 360 and the Mid-West Field Trials.

Richard was preceded in death by his father in 2003 and his mother in 2016. he is survived by his three daughters Shawn Hosier (Fred Ashcraft), Sondra (Greg) Swallow, and Lori (Billy) Blevins, his two sons Danny (Brittany) Higgs, and Michael (Taryna) Bradley, his grandchildren Richard Dylan Hosier, Brant (Logan) Swallow, Dustin Blevins, Tara (James) Brubaker, Taylor (Skyler) Sanders, Lacy Higgs, Zachary Higgs, Ayden Swallow, and Reba Ashcraft, along with many great-grandbabies who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his only sister Georgia Cook, his niece Victoria Hosier, and his beloved dog Ralph.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Dunn officiating. Richard will be buried at Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the funeral home.
