Richard W. Armstrong

Richard W. Armstrong 77 of Richmond died Sunday August 16, 2026 at Reid Health. He was born December 4, 1948 in Richmond to Richard F. and Betty Bell Armstrong and lived here all his life.

He was President of Armstrong Cleaners and Formal Wear and an Army Veteran. He was a graduate of Ball State University and the Dry Cleaning and Laundry Institute where he served as a board member and director over six states.

He was an active member of Centerville United Methodist Church, Webb Lodge #24 F&AM, the Eastern Star, and the Wayne County Republican Party. He also served as Chairman of the Richmond Area Rose Festival. He enjoyed Golf and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts.

Survivors include his wife Dixie, two children Lara (Scott) Morgan and Brian (Gayle) Armstrong, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one brother Tim Armstrong, two nieces, and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 22, 2026, 1:00 P.M., at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Achenbach officiating. Masonic memorial services will precede befor the funeral service. Burial in Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville with military honors by the Wayne County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
