Phyllis Jean
Mullins
May 15, 1948 — Jan 18, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Jean Mullins (nee Witt) announces that on January 18, 2025, she passed away at Reid Health Hospital in Richmond, Indiana at the age of 76 years.
Phyllis was born and raised in Richmond, Indiana, and lived with her family for a short while in London, Kentucky. She lived most of her adult life in Muscatine, Iowa where she raised her family of four daughters. As an empty nester, she returned to live in her hometown near her siblings. Phyllis achieved her license as a Registered Nurse and dedicated her career to caring for patients in the hospital and various nursing homes. She was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church where she held membership in Muscatine, Iowa. She volunteered countless hours at the church and its affiliated Community Service Center. Her faith was foundational to how she lived her life and raised her children. She enjoyed participating in church socials, puzzles, and games, and could have been a millionaire if she had ever been on the popular TV game show "Jeopardy." She was greatly loved and will be missed.
Her family survivors include daughter Lori Goggins-Mullins, daughter and son-in-law Kay Mullins-Peters and John Thomas (Tom) Peters, daughter Susan Segebartt, and daughter and son-in-law Mary Willis and Ryan Willis. Surviving siblings include Ruth Prittchet-Burt and brother-in-law Bob Burt, sister-in-law Linda Witt, brother Steve Witt, and brother-in-law Carl Feller.
