Peggy Joyce Hughes Schoenherr 73 of Richmond died July 14, 2021, in her brother and sister-in-law's home. She was born January 6, 1948, in Richmond to Raymond Francis and Hazel Marie Abner Hughes and lived here all her life, until moving to Atlanta, Georgia 20 years ago. She formerly worked for Belden Corporation and served as a police officer for the Richmond Police Department. She enjoyed cooking, crochet, and her family.

Survivors include her three sons Scott, Kevin, and Brad Jinks, four grandchildren; Ashley Somerson, Ashley Spurgeon, Sophia Jinks, and Kelsey Jinks, one great-grandson Ian Jinks, two brothers Rick and Ron Hughes, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral home with Rev. Steve Mathews officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville.
