Pastor Fred Donald Jensen, 85, of Cambridge City, went to Heaven peacefully on April 13th at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Fred was born on October 20th, 1940, to Fred and Fern Jensen in Wisconsin. Fred obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Theology (Baptist Bible Seminary-Johnson City, New York) and a Master's Degree in Religious Education (Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary-Grand Rapids, Michigan). He went on to serve the Lord and Pastor several churches.

In 1961, he married Faith. Fred and Faith went on to have 2 children, Andrew and Amy Beth. Fred and Faith were married for almost 65 blessed years.

Fred pastored the Meadowood Baptist Church in Madison, Wisconsin; Crestwood Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana; Faith Baptist in Van Wert, Ohio; Bible Baptist (Assistant Pastor) in Peru, Indiana; and First Baptist in North Adams, Michigan for over 40 years. In retirement he worked as a bank courier at West End Bank and a lunch helper at Western Wayne Elementary School. Fred taught Sunday School and evening Bible school at Hillcrest Baptist Church for the past 18 years. He spent his free time with his grandchildren.

Fred was predeceased by his parents (Fritz & Fern), his siblings (Carol, Bill, Elwyn, and Arla), and his son (Andrew). He is survived by his wife (Faith), daughter (Amy Beth), grandchildren (Andrew, Ainslee, Sophia, and Isabella), great granddaughter (Alayna), and nieces and nephews.

Fred was a devoted and loving husband, an understanding and loving dad, the sweetest, funniest grandpa, and the strongest servant for the Lord. He was a friend to everyone he met. He loved to grill burgers for his girls, watch the Cubs and the Packers win games, and give his granddaughters rides anywhere they asked. We imagine he had the sweetest homecoming with his Lord and his son, Andy, in heaven. We will miss him, but know he is the happiest he's ever been, and we will be reunited with him in Heaven one day. Well done, good and faithful servant.

Services will be held at his home church, Hillcrest Baptist Church, in Richmond, Indiana (3469 Hillcrest Road, Richmond, Indiana 47374). Visitation will be on Saturday, April 18th 10:30am-2:30pm, with funeral following at 3:00 pm.

Fred will be laid to rest this summer with the Jensen family in Wisconsin (Faith will keep him busy until then ).
