Naomi Ruth Jones, age 90, of Richmond, died April 2, 2025, at Reid Health after an extended illness. She was born November 5, 1934, in Richmond to Thurmand William and Eloise Evelyn DeWitt Wood and lived here all her life. She retired in 1995 from Area 9 Agency on Aging, where she worked with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Centerville Nazarene Church.

Naomi loved her family and church, and she loved delivering Meals on Wheels and helping her clients with small tasks. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, collecting angels, and game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune. She also liked sitting on her back porch.

Survivors include her nine children: Sandy Reece, Bobby Jones, Linda (Jim) Powell, Brenda Moore, Debbie Wright, Jackie Varvel, David Jones, Kathy (Frank) Frame, and Kenny (Renee) Jones, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband of 71 years, Howard, died on January 15, 2024. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Jolene Beam, one son, William Jones, her parents, one sister, Esther Wood, and one nephew, Gary Shonkwiler.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Trevor Stanley officiating, with burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
