It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Soper on October 13, 2024, at the age of 75. Mike was born on June 2, 1949, in Richmond, Indiana to William "Bill" and Ida Soper.

After Mike graduated from Richmond High School in 1967, he proceeded to take an apprentice position in management training for MCL cafeteria before joining the Air Force in 1969. After his service with the Air Force was completed, Mike returned to Richmond and continued to work for MCL Cafeteria as an Assistant Manager before joining Belden.

Mike married the love of his life, Cheryl in 1969, during their 55 years of marriage they had two children: Mike and Tricia.

In 2011, Mike retired from Belden after 33 years and spent his time with his family, fishing, golfing, bowling, and beating anyone he could in cards. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Indiana Pacers & Fever, Indiana Hoosiers basketball and Cincinnati Reds with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Cheryl. His Sister Linda (Jeff) Climer of Centerville, Ohio Children: Michael Soper II (Michele) of Fishers, Indiana, and Tricia Moore (Todd) of Richmond, Indiana. Grandchildren: Chris Soper of Fishers, Indiana, Taylor Soper (Anna) of Corinth, Mississippi, and Haley (Derick) Lynn of Elwood, Indiana Great Grandchild: Aria Soper of Alexandria, Indiana.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ida Soper, and his four brothers: Jack, Claude, Bo and Bill Soper.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 17th from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 18th at 11am. Visitation and funeral services will be at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home.
