Lorraine Stamper of Richmond passed away on Sunday May 24, 2026, at the Willows of Richmond. She was born on January 4, 1930, in Richmond, the sixth child of William and Hattie Berry Stevens.

She was a graduate of Richmond High School and worked at various shops until she married Dr. Allen Stamper. When they retired and moved to Hernando, Florida. There they enjoyed good health and went fishing each day for many years.

After Allen's death she returned to Richmond where she was able to spend time with friends and her sister Ethel Terry and brother Gerald "Jerry" Stevens. She reunited with her high school friend Gene Duke and moved to Portland and later Parker City. Together they spent wonderful years there until Gene passed away and was buried in Webster Cemetery. Lorraine returned to Richmond where she resided at the Interfaith Apartments.

Survivors include nieces Linda Giannini, Marty Taylor, Melissa Burk, Susan Langenkamp, and Lori Holmes, her nephew Dan Stevens, and a multitude of great nieces and nephews. Also cherished in her life was Libby and Dave Hirschy and extended family. She will be greatly missed by longtime friend and coffee buddy, Laura Tirey, her pizza party friends Sue Cunningham, Martene Dawes, Dave and Sue Shipley.

A special thank you to her most loving and caring daily provider of love and compassion, Annette Jones. She was truly an angel here for her. Along with her was Ryder Jones McCarty for being Lorraine's best little buddy and his great-grandmother, Lucy Sayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Edna Edwards, Ethel Terry and Alma Stevens, brothers, Larry and Sherman "Bud" Stevens Gerald "Jerry" Stevens, niece Cynthia Martin, nephews Jay Edwards and Bill, Mack, and Douglas Stevens.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful women of Reid Hospice for their care and compassion. A graveside service was held for Lorraine in Webster Cemetery where family and friends gathered and officiated by Annette Jones.
