Larry R. Shute 84 of Richmond passed away on January 31, 2024, at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville. He was born August 22, 1939, in Richmond to Harold Emerson and Mildred Mary Puthoff Shute; he lived in Washington, D.C., and Vancouver B.C. before moving back to this area 20 years ago.

Larry was an Army veteran.

He worked at IBM and retired as a Computer Specialist from the Justice Department. He rescued and cared for many dogs and cats over the years and had volunteered at PETA.

Larry is survived by his friend Judy McKnight, his sister Linda Ellen Shute-Feltis, and one niece.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one niece.

There will be no public services. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
