LaMont (Monty) P. Davis was born in Chagrin Falls Ohio on November 19, 1936 and passed away July 17, 2024 in Spring Hill ,FL He was the son of Harold Davis and Audrey (Godsey) Davis. He married his high school sweetheart, the lovely Betty L. Davies Davis who also passed recently on June 11, 2024.

Monty graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond IN in 1956. He joined the United States Army as an enlisted man, but received a commission after attending Officers Candidate School. He was a 3 tour Vietnam combat veteran serving his initial tour as a Green Beret and two subsequent tours as a helicopter pilot. Among other honors, he was a Purple Heart recipient. While on active duty, he attended the University of Tampa, graduating in 1972. His last duty station was Fort Huachuca, AZ when, in 1977, he retired as a Major, having served his country for 22 years. After retiring, he worked for the Department of Veterans affairs and served as the Director for Job Services for veterans for the state of Florida. He enjoyed photography, working with his hands, and loved tending to his plants - he had quite the green thumb.

He is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Audrey (Godsey) Davis and the following siblings Jean Leopke McGinnis, Charlotte Leopke Thompson, Malcolm Leopke , James Davis. He is survived by his brother, Donald Davis, his three children: Lynda D. Davis of Spring Hill FL; Patrick A. Davis of Palm Harbor, FL; Bonny J. Lane (Bob) of Williston FL; Four grandchildren, Jessica Thornton (Ian), Rob Lane (Leah), Chris Lane (Carli), Mike Lane (Julie) and seven great-grandchildren. His internment, along with his wife of 66 years, will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday April 26, 2025 Boston Cemetery in Boston Indiana.
