Kenneth Lee Burns, 71, of Richmond, passed away on July 9, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare–Richmond Care Center. He was born on April 2, 1954, in Winchester, Indiana, to Everett and Mary (Stanley) Burns, and spent most of his life in the Richmond area.

Kenneth was the co-owner of Estes Appliances/Burns TV Service and held the highest class—Extra Class—Amateur Radio Operator license. A skilled woodworker and natural tinkerer, he enjoyed restoring electronics and even brought many Wheel Horse tractors back to life. He began playing guitar at the age of five and remained a passionate musician throughout his life, performing in several local bands.

He attended Gateway Church in Richmond.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Diana Carroll-Burns, whom he married on August 15, 1976; two sons, Todd (Shelby) Burns and Christopher Burns; eleven grandchildren; Aiden, Maya, Mira, Ellie, Kailor, Kade, Josiah, Jeremiah, Jaydaleigh, Jonas, and Lorelai one sister, Rosemary Bollman; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two brothers, Randy Burns and Richard Burns; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, with Pastor Chris Monaghan officiating. Burial will follow at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Lynn, Indiana. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
