Jon Jay Wampler of Richmond, Indiana died Tuesday, June  21, 2023, at Reid Health. He was born June 8, 1954, in Union City, Indiana to Jack and Cora (Cannell) Wampler.

For several years Jon was the manager of several fast-food restaurants; he also worked at Belden, and he drove a taxi here in Richmond.

He is survived by his five children Shawn (Mindy) Wampler, Jessica Wampler, Jonathan (Leslie Smith) Weaver, Jason (Lindsey) Wampler, Kristi Wampler, seven grandchildren Scout Wampler, Annabelle Marsh, Isaiah, Christian, Ava Weaver, Mystique, Lyla, Bentley Wampler, Skyler, and Marlee Wampler; one sister Jacqueline (Hershel) Clark, one brother Edward Fitzgerald, several nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Becky Wampler, one sister Christina White, three brothers Robert, Stuart David, and Bruce.

Jon's family is proud to know that someone will experience the gift of vision because of his selfless donation.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jon in the coming weeks.
