Johnnie B. McGovern Jr., age 67 of Richmond, died Friday, September 19, 2025, in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born on February 1, 1958, to Johnnie B. and Gertrude A. (Hart) McGovern Sr. and was a lifelong resident.

He retired as an elevator mechanic and supervisor, formerly working for Thssen-Krupp Elevators. He was an avid motorcycle rider and a member of the Crossroads Biker Church. He was also a member of the wildlife and fishing preserve.

Survivors include his son, Johnnie B. (Stephanie) McGovern III, five grandchildren, Lydia, Ian, Kaitlyn, Evan, and Dylan, two sisters, Debra Arline (Jack) Wilson and Marylou Zacatelco, nieces and nephews, and his life companion, Rachel Phillips.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 30, 202,5, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Goshen Cemetery.
