John C. Kelley III 80 of Richmond died after a lengthy illness on April 22, 2023at Reid Health. He was born September 30, 1942, in Aurora, Illinois to John C and Mary-Rita Farley Kelley II and lived in Richmond since 2002. He retired as a Police Chief in Law Enforcement and worked as a Real Estate Agent for Better Home and Gardens Real Estate.

He was a graduate of Michigan State University with a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and attended the F.B.I. National Academy. John was a member of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and Richmond Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years Bonnie, two children John (Audrey-Hutton) Kelley IV, and Heather Martin, two grandchildren Megan Kelley and Brian Cumming, one brother Daniel (Cheri) Kelley, nieces and nephews, and his dog Van Gogh. John is preceded in death by his parents.
