Jenny J. "Big Jen" Coons

Jenny J. “Big Jen” Coons, age 91 of Richmond died Wednesday September 2, 2026, at Brickyard Golden Rule in Richmond. She was born on July 13, 1935 in Richmond to William Riley and Jenny Madonna Newton Emslie and lived in Richmond all her life. She retired from Dunn Mental Health.

Jenny is survived by her four children Sherri (Dan) Crabb, Robin Coons, Amy (Mike) Werner, and Bobby (Melissa) Coons, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild on the way, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters Jana (Tom) Swisher, and Judi (Todd) Thompson.

Funeral services for Jenny will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday September 8, 2026, with burial following in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday September 8th at the funeral home.
