R. Jay Hartman, age 72, of Richmond, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 at Methodist Hospital. Jay was born June 4, 1952, in Richmond to the late Charles R. and Dorothy N. Baker Hartman and lived here all his life. Jay was a dedicated husband of 50 years to the love of his life Becky; they married December 28, 1974.

God sent Jay with a purpose on earth as an example to persevere and live by, no matter what life throws at you.  Thru all his medical ups and downs, Jay never complained or felt sorry for himself, and always, always had that "Smile."

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Becky, three daughters, Andria (Shane) Baumgartner, Sara (Brandton) Woll, and Leah (Bryan) Watkins, three granddaughters, Addison, Brylee, and Alena, his sister, Virginia (Greg) Turner, nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends, he spoke to often with a call.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Hartman.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at St. Andrew's Church with Rev Sengole Gnanaraj officiating. The committal service will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery. There will be a visitation Friday, May 9, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary service starting at 7:00 P.M. at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home. Friends are asked to wear Cincinnati Reds attire.
