Janice A. Balthis 81 of Richmond died July 18, 2022, at Reid Health after a short illness. She was born May 17, 1941 in Preble County, Ohio to Harold and Phyllis Dill Spencer and lived here over 55 years. She worked at ACE USA Insurance and was a member of Friendship Community Church.

Survivors include three children Jimmy (Sandy) Balthis, Billy Balthis, and Sherri (Jeff) Sheehy all of Richmond, her grandchildren Brandi (Kyle) Rehmert, Stephen Balthis, Jeffrey Sheehy, Dustin Sheehy, Jamie Balthis, and Sarah (Cory) Craft, her great grandchildren, four brothers Jerry Spencer, Jim Spencer, David Spencer, and Randy Spencer, nieces and nephews. her husband James died in 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Joe and Stephen Spencer, one sister Darlene Cook, and her special aunt Anna Bowen.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Gearhardt officiating and burial in Goshen Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to a favorite charity.
