Obituary

James Michael Guenther, 61, of Fountain City, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at home peacefully. He was born on April 15th, 1964, in Anderson, to Bob and Linda Guenther. Though his time with us feels far too short, he lived a full and meaningful life.

Mike Guenther spent almost twenty years working as an operator/assembler at Henny Penny. He was a dedicated employee who took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. He had a lifelong love for racing and sports, with a special devotion to the Chicago Bears that became a cherished family tradition. He loved being outdoors—washing or working on cars, mushroom hunting, and simply spending time with his boys.

Mike is survived by his wife, whom he adored, Rosetta Guenther, for forty-two years. They were married on December 9th, 1983.   Survivors also include his two sons, Jesse (Brooke) Guenther of Greenfield and Michael (Nora) Guenther of Fountain City; four grandchildren, Kyndall Guenther, Ella Guenther, Landen Guenther, and Easton Guenther. Brother, Robert Earl Guenther; Siblings, David (Marsha) Callahan, Janice Callahan, Clyde Jr. Callahan, George Callahan, Sylvia Gregory, Sherry (Pat) Barker, Darrin (Jessica) Callahan, Mandy (Sam) Buckley; Uncles, Bill (Jan) Foust, Richard (Patti) Foust; Cousin, Nicki Nunemaker-Phipps, and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by both of his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Clyde Callahan; Harold and Freda Smith; aunt, Debbie Nunemaker; cousin, Ricky Nunemaker; sister-in-law, Cindy Callahan; and brother-in-law, Terry Gregory.

Mike's life will be celebrated on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at Living Faith Church of God, 3777 Nolands Fork Rd, Richmond, IN. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The service will begin at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Allen Henderson. Burial immediately following the service at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City, IN. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling the services. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stegallberheideorr.com

The family would like to thank all of their extended family, church family, and Pastors Allen (DeAnna) Henderson for their support during this grievous time.
