James D. "Jim" Banning 85 of Richmond passed away July 24, 2023, at Arbor Trace Senior Living. He was born January 18, 1938, in Richmond to Dale and Jeannette Ball Banning and lived here all of his life.

He was an Army Veteran.

Jim retired from ALCOA where he worked as a supervisor; he was a member of the First Christian Church and a former member of the Elks Lodge #649.

Jim touched a lot of lives with his infectious personality, and "Nae, Nae, Nae" will forever live on in our memory. The family would like to thank Arbor Trace Senior Living for their dedicated care and service.

He is survived by his three sons Joe (Carolyn) Banning of Fayetteville, TN, Jeff (Nettsie) Banning of Mooresville, Indiana, Terry (Nina) Banning of Williamsburg, one daughter Dana (Mark) Garard of Richmond; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother Jerry Banning of Daytona Beach, Florida, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family; inurnment will be in Earlham Cemetery. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling the services.
