Obituary

Jack Martin Sr. (74) passed away peacefully on September 10,2023, at Reid Health surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born on June 16,1949 in Richmond, Indiana. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1968 and went on to marry his childhood sweetheart, best friend and soul mate, Sue Ellen (Hughes) on March 14, 1969. Together they spent 54 wonderful years together. They were a source of passion and devotion to each other.

Jack proudly joined the United States Air Force in 1969. He was stationed in Cheyenne Wyoming and served a one-year deployment in Korea. After serving his country, Jack worked, for 30 years, as a United States Postal Service carrier. He was honored to serve as union president for many of those years.

Jack was a devoted father and grandfather who was happiest when surrounded by his family. He willingly sacrificed much to raise his children and some of his grandchildren. They were the most important part of his life, and he gave much of himself to insure their happiness. He will be remembered by them for his inseverable love, good-natured teasing, and his great sense of humor.

Jack loved fishing and boating, and he would never pass up a trip to the casino with his friend Don Berry. He held a fierce love for his puppies, and we rejoice knowing that his beloved Ginger has leaped back into his arms once more.

Jack is survived by his dear wife Sue Ellen Martin; his 3 children Jack Martin Jr., Lori Martin and Rebecca Koorsen; his 9 grandchildren Courtney (John) Blevins, Jared Martin, Abigail Ballard, Alexis Martin, Hayley (Joshua Brown) Koorsen, Airy (Nate) Parsons, Aydan Litton, Maksim Koorsen, and Liam Martin; his 4 great grandchildren Heidy, Emelia, John and Corban Blevins; His 7 siblings; John (Terrie) Bowen, Fredrick Thomas (Doris) Martin, Jay (Debbie) Martin, Jerry Martin, James Rahdert, Carol Nolte, and Kathy (John) Baker.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Frank James Martin Sr., Charlotte (Bill Bowen) Martin, his beloved daughter Renee Martin, and brother Frank James Martin Jr.
