Iona "Onie" Turner, 85, of Richmond passed away in her home on Wednesday May 27, 2026. She was born on February 25, 1941 in Jackson County, Kentucky to the late Hubert and Gertrude Brock Damrell. After 40 years, she retired from the Southside Dairy Queen in Richmond.

Mom loved to cook and bake, no one ever left hungry. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling and shooting pool. Years ago she even played volleyball.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Onie is survived by three daughters, Rhonda (Dale) Smith, Debra (Bill) Henry, Shelly Powell (Tim Hunter); grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Michael (Katie) Smith, Jessica Holland (Kent Perdue), Ronnie Henry (Ambria Hughes), Billy (Miranda) Henry, and Brandon (Wendy) Henry, Sierra (Jason) Goodwin, and Amber Powell; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald in 1996; her brother Virgil Damrell; three sisters Vadis Hall, Lillian irwin, and Beulah Watson.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 1, 2026 in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family via the guest book at stegallberheideorr.com.
