Ida "Louise" McIntosh, 91, of Richmond died peacefully in her home on May 17, 2024.  She was born on April 24, 1933 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Edwin and Lena Sieveking.

On May 28, 1950 Louise married Merle J McIntosh who preceded her in death.  Surviving are her son, Michael (Elaine) McIntosh of Muncie, daughter Cheryl (Garry) Kleer of Richmond; grandchildren Michelle (Morris) Stimpson, Elizabeth (James) Doster, Karissa (Chris) Mullett, and David (Sarah) Kleer; her great-grandchildren Vincent, Dominic, Benjamin, Zachary, Charlotte, Nicholas, Palmer and Quinn; her brother William (Geneva) Sieveking, and her nieces and nephews.

Louise attended Corydon High School, worked for the Welfare Department, and then began a 30 year career with the US Postal Service.  She served as Postmaster for the New Salisbury Post Office for 10 years.  She took pride in her work and thoroughly enjoyed both careers.

Louise spent time volunteering at her church and in the community.  She particularly enjoyed her Creative Hands group, which handmade items to sell for church mission work.  She was gifted at handwork, and her family and friends were blessed with many of her beautiful creations.  She attended New Salisbury Methodist Church and Central United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed her time in Richmond, but in her heart, home was always in Southern Indiana.  Louise loved watching basketball and old movies, building puzzles, and was always reading something.  Her sugar cookies were second to none, as were her perfect, flaky pie crusts.  She always looked forward to time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Louise was preceded in death by her siblings Martha Sieveking, Carolyn Thevenot, and Edwin Sieveking Jr., and her great-grandchildren Gabrielle Consolino and Alexander Mullett.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tina Riechley, the staff of 5 North and Hospice Services at Reid Health, and Synergy HomeCare for their care and compassion toward Louise.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 14 at 12:00 pm at Bethlehem Cemetery in Crandall, Indiana.  An open house gathering to honor Louise will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Forest Hills Country Club in Richmond.   Memorial contributions can be made to the Reid Health Foundation at 1100 Reid Parkway, Richmond, IN 47374.
