Howard E. Jones age 89 of Richmond died Monday, January 15, 2024, at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville after a short illness. He was born May 6, 1934, in Bristol, Tennessee, and lived here most of his life. He retired from Johns-Manville after working 35 years. He was also a building contractor.

Howard was a member of Centerville Nazarene Church where he sang and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed woodworking and was always a help to his neighbors and friends repairing and building things. He would jump when called to help. Survivors include his wife of 71 years Ruth, and nine children Sandy Reece, Bobby Jones, Linda (Jim) Powell, Brenda Moore, Debbie Wright, Jackie Varvel, David Jones, Kathy (Frank) Frame, and Kenny (Renee) Jones, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and his neighbors and church family. he is preceded in death by one daughter Jolene Beam and one son William Jones, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.m. Thursday, January 25 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Trevor Stanley officiating. Howard will be buried in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
