Harold D. Smith, 91, of Richmond, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2025, at Arbor Trace Senior Living. He was born on February 14, 1934, in Heidelberg, Kentucky, to Neal and Carrie Anderson Smith, and lived in the area most of his life.

Harold was a faithful member of Living Faith Church of God. He was also a proud member of UAW Local #721, working as a millwright pipefitter at Wayne Works for many years.

He is survived by his three children: Vincent (Tammy) Smith, Phyllis (Jerry) Clouse, and Rosie (Mike) Guenther; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a special granddaughter, Destiny "Doodlebug." He is also survived by two brothers, Marvin (Georgette) Smith, Bill "Hooter"Smith; one sister, Ruth (Gene) Ross; and several nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Freda May Smith, who passed away in 2022; his daughter, Sandy Alvey, who passed away in 1995; and his siblings, Goldie May Sparks, Jr. Smith, Virginia Jean Spencer, Johnny Smith, Charles Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Living Faith Church of God 3777 Nolands Fork Rd, Richmond, Indiana 47374, with Pastor Alan Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the church; Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
