Grace Bossert Estes passed away peacefully at Ambassador Health Care on April 28, 2023. She was born February 20, 1927, in Oxford, Ohio to Ada and Perry Bossert.
She was a 1948 graduate of Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing. Her nursing career included working with pediatric patients, working in physician offices, and taking care of family members.
Grace was a long-term, active member of Northside Church of Christ. She loved being outside which was reflected in the growth of the flowers and vegetables in her yard. She was an excellent cook. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, quilting, and crafts. She was a volunteer at her church, Rosebud nursing home for crafts, and with her husband (Charles) as Bluegrass DJ on the radio at Earlham College.
She was proceeded in death by parents: Ada and Perry Bossert; Brothers: William (aged 6 days) Bossert and Edward Bossert; Sisters: Anne May Bossert and Sylvia Chaney; Daughter: Karen Dixon; Niece: Marcella Mullins
Grace is survived by her devoted husband of 72 plus years, Charles (Ike) Estes; Daughters; Patricia Estes and Anita Estes; Grandchildren: Michael Thurston (Tiffany), Mikaela Estes (Norbert Batista), Isaac Scoggins, and Ashley Dixon (Donovan Osborne); Great grandchildren: Syndney Thurston, Ethan Thurston, Elijah Estes, McKynli Estes, Kennidi Wilson, Jansyn Osborne, Memory Lane Scoggins, and Serenity Grace Scoggins.
She was a humble, quiet, and private person. Per her request, she will only have a visitation at this time to be followed in the future with a joint memorial service with her husband Charles.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, May 5, 2023, at the Northside Church of Christ. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stegallberheideorr.com
