Georgia Ann
Mullins
May 17, 1945 — Jun 4, 2024
Georgia Ann Mullins, age 79, went to Heaven on June 4, 2024. Georgia passed away due to Myelodysplastic Syndrome and Acute Myeloid Leukemia. But, if you asked her, she died due to a broken heart. She lost the love of her life, Edward Mullins, 206 days before.
Georgia was born on May 17, 1945, to James W. and Ruby Elizabeth Parkey Johnson in Corbin, Whitley County, Kentucky. Her family moved to Richmond, Indiana in 1948. In 1963, she met and married Edward Mullins. They had two daughters, Lori Lynn Lambright (Brad) of Centerville, and April Elaine Branstetter (Matthew) of West Virginia.
The true joy in her life was to be "Mammaw" to Arielle Williams (Christopher), Ashleigh Davis (Eric), Thomas Branstetter (Deanna), Kara Schroeder (Andrew), Hunter, Emma, and Wade Lambright,. Also, being "Great Mammaw/ Grandma" to ten great-grandchildren, Gentry Williams, Vivian Davis, Zoey, and Corie Schroeder. Blakelynn, Kyra, Nicholas, Finley, Mason, and Mady Branstetter.
Georgia was an accomplished artist, seamstress, and cook. She held an art show in Centerville featuring her soft sculpture art and oil paintings. Many quilts and paintings were gifted to friends and family over her lifetime. Friends would often gather at her home for a delicious meal to celebrate life. She loved to make even the smallest holiday or occasion exceptional for her children and grandchildren by sewing them all matching outfits, baking special treats, and eating off of the "fine china and fancy goblets" to make each child feel like they were guests of honor.
Georgia was the last survivor of her birth family. She was preceded in death by five brothers: Billie, James Burton, Jennings, Harold, and Ronald Johnson. She had five sisters: Lorene Gregory, Norma Strader, Gladys Ruth Johnson, Mary Hastings, and Ella Jean Cox.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, June 10, 2024, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home; with Matthew Branstetter and Brad Lambright officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
