George Allen Hunter, 73, of Richmond, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2025. He was born June 21, 1952, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to Lon and Ruth Dickenson Hunter and lived here most of his life.

George graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tennessee, and retired from Quanex/Imperial Products.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, hosting Super Bowl parties and cookouts.

George is survived by his brother Jeff (Cheryl) Hunter of Richmond, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews, including five special nephews, Jon, Justin, Tommy, Josh, and Jason.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers James, Tom, and  Merle, and two sisters Connie and Judy.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family; burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
