Gene Sparks 63, of Richmond, passed away December 27, 2020, at Reid Health after a short illness. He was born February 17, 1957, in Lee County, Kentucky to Charles E. and Elsie Reece Sparks and lived in this area most of his life.

Gene retired from Milestone where he worked as a Skreed Operator for 24 ½ years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors; He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was the proud grandfather of seven granddaughters.

He is survived by his mother, two children Rochelle Irwin, Damien (Brandi) Irwin both of Richmond, seven granddaughters Faith, Breanna, Cameron, Kayla, Kristin, Elsie, Helen, five brothers Paul (Cindy) Sparks of Richmond, Carol (Fred) Himes of Kentucky, Fay Young of Richmond, Terry (Ron) Roberts of Richmond, Charlotte (Raul) Davolos of Batesville, nieces, nephews, a lifelong friend Clyde Wooten and a good friend Tim Reed.

He is preceded in death by his father, his wife of 38 years Lisa Lynn Sparks who died in 2018, two brothers Ken and Sidney Sparks.
