Gary Wayne Osborn, 73, of Springfield, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025 following a long illness.  He was born on March 4, 1951, in Keytesville, Missouri to the late Russell Osborn and Zella (Williams) Osborn.  Gary graduated from Richmond High School in 1969 and Indiana University in 1974.  He started work with the Richmond Police Department April 8, 1974.  Over his 23 years with RPD, he served as a patrolman, sergeant, and detective.  Following his retirement from RPD, he worked security at Indiana University East.

He is survived by his children Jennifer Evans (Paul) of Bel Air, Maryland and Rebecca Lafuze (Brett) of Richmond; five grandchildren Colin Evans, Erin Evans, Graham Evans, Melanie Lafuze and Brynn Lafuze; his brother Roger Osborn of Flint, Michigan and his sister Linda (Terry) Shipley of Richmond.  He also leaves one niece, two nephews, and friends.

A public calling will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home.  Services and interment will be private.
