Eva Janet Whitney of Richmond died unexpectedly on May 26, 2022, at Reid Health. She was born on in Baltimore, Maryland to Henry and Eva Elick Grewe.

She worked at American Towel and Linen for 28 years and was a former member of Central United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with her family and crocheting.

Survivors include her two children Ruth (Rick) Edwards of Richmond and Robert Whitney of Mississippi, four grandchildren Tabetha (fiance Michael Reece) McMillan of Greens Fork, Kyle (Michelle) Alvey of Richmond, Sabrina (Daniel) Kelley of Richmond, and Robert (Chelsey) Whitney of North Carolina several great-grandchildren, one sister Jane Judy of Maryland, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and her best friend and sister-in-law Catherine Weiss.

Her husband Louis died in 1998, she is also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
