Elaine Davey, 71, of Richmond, IN passed away on April 27, 2023. Elaine was born and raised in Vernon, New York on February 26, 1952. She graduated from Vernon Verona Sherrill High School and received her associate's degree from Herkimer County Community College.

She was a creative thinker, throwing her talents into sewing, home renovations, cooking, and gardening. She enjoyed her friends and attending local cultural events. She always bought two tickets so she could combine these interests - attending an event with a good friend was a winning combination. She found comfort and peace with her Widowed Persons Group peers. She was well-traveled and enjoyed seeing new parts of the world. Her career was in education and she enjoyed teaching children, especially those with special needs.

Elaine is survived by her two children, Azure Davey (LuAnn Humphrey) and Brigham Davey; three grandchildren, Creighton Davey, Prestynn Davey, and Brigham Davey II; two brothers, Jack Caufield (Linda) and Dennis Caufield (Karen). Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce G. Davey, her parents, John and Helen Caufield, and siblings, Debra Qualls and Donald Caufield.

A memorial service will be held at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home in Richmond, IN from 11:00 a.m. - Noon. Friday, May 5. Visitation will be held prior, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. There will also be a late Spring/Summer interment of ashes at the family plot in Saint Helena Cemetery in Oneida, NY.
